Fees

Please contact us with your enquiries and/or to provide you with a quote.

Please do not forget to provide us with a detailed background and medical profile or prognosis of the potential patient as well as the address where the care needs to be provided so we can determine our ability to service your geographically.

Our rates are billed for daily per shift.

Please note that our rates are inclusive of Vat @15% and staff transport from Johannesburg Central to major taxi ranks. Additional taxi trips will be billed over and above.

Within our labour category, Sundays and public holidays worked are subject to loadings of 50% and 100% respectively as per the Labour Relations Act (LRA).

Our fees are not covered by medical aid for reimbursement. This is due to the fact that our services comprise primarily of support with “acts of daily living” (eating, dressing, mobility, toileting etc), and which in the eyes of medical aids, is a function of Frail Care for which there is no cover as it falls within “general exclusions”. The appointing person, be it the patient or family member are therefore responsible for full settlement of all invoices billed monthly in arrears.

All cases will be subject to a two week advance payment deposit which payable before services can commence and is refundable in the event that the full two weeks are not worked.

Frequently Asked Questions

What level of qualifications do your staff have?

Our staff are referred to as care workers or care givers.  They initially undertake a 3 to 6 month training course with the likes of St. Johns Ambulance; Empilweni Nursing College or any other Sector Education & Training Authority (SETA) accredited provider.  With my company having been operational for over 27 years, with very low staff turnover, the majority of staff have a minimum of 10 years work experience with All Care alone.

We have predominantly female staff compliment, however we do also have some excellent male carers as well as (when available) some with their driver’s licence.

Are All Care Nursing Services covered by medical aid?

No, our services unfortunately are not covered by medical aids. Care workers are entry level “nurses” and as such they are not required to register with the SA Nursing Council (SANC), the same as “professional” registered nurses (RN’s) are required to.  Their scope of practice is therefore not eligible for cover.  In addition to this, most home nursing cases are long term, and very much viewed by medical aid schemes as frail care.  Most if not all medical aids categorise frail care as a basic exclusion – due to the long term nature of the care which would be financially draining on them.

Our services therefore need to be paid for privately.

I note that All Care Nursing Services are available to me 24/7.  Does this mean I am obligated to have services 7 days a week or may I exclude weekends?

You are not obliged to have our services full time or over weekends or public holidays.

What are the 50% and 100% loadings levied on Sundays and Public Holidays?

In our category of work, in terms of  the Labour Relations Act (LRA), we are required to pay our staff time plus 50% (time & a half), for any Sundays worked, and a further time plus 100% (double time) for any public holidays worked. These loadings apply to both day and night shifts.

Do I need to pay a deposit before services commence?

Yes.  You will be billed for the first 7 days service in advance, and the balance of the services on the 25th of that month in keeping within our billing structure.

What happens to my deposit if I do not use the 7 days paid for?

You will be fully refunded for any shifts not worked.

When are services payable?

Deposits are payable before services commence.  Thereafter invoices are issued on the 25th or nearest working day, with funds to be available in our account by 28th of each month for timeous payment of staff salaries.

In February and December, we do early billings due to the shorter 28 day month and Christmas.  Should you get billed in advance for any shifts not worked, these will be refunded or credited to your next month’s account.

How soon can you provide me with a carer?

24 Hours is the preferred notice period.  However, time and staff availability permitting, we will get care support to you as urgently as we can – same day has previously been achieved.  Just know that we will do everything possible to get the support in place as soon as we can.

How soon can I terminate services – is there a contract period?

We do not hold anyone to a contract period.  We do however appreciate a week’s notice for allocation purposed in case changes need to be made to staff allocations already in place.

What happens if I have booked a carer and cancel them while on their way?

If the nurse is already en-route, you will be billed for that shift.

Do I need to give cash to the carer for transport?

No, not under any circumstances are you to hand over cash for transport.  This is already built into your daily rate.  No cash should be handed over for any reason at all.

Are there discounted rates for longer term cases?

Unfortunately, not.  The carers cost their daily wage irrespective of whether they work full or part time – they do not cost less the more they work.  It is therefore not possible to discount their services.  What I do, do however, is calculate a 12 month, 30 day average for your budgeting purposes.  This will include the Sunday loadings but exclude public holidays.  These will be billed over and above the monthly rate as and when worked.

May I change the assigned carer if their personality does not suit us?

Yes, absolutely.  We take no offence at all to such a request.  I know the strengths and weaknesses of all my staff so well, that generally, we have a 99% success rate with pairings.  However, if you feel the personality or skills of the assigned carer do not suit your environment, you only need to advise me.
